Texas A&M University recently performed a study on high-traffic areas across the nation. 471 major metro cities were gauged, and the results were released earlier this year.
Floatopia began in California and has since made it’s way to Florida. It is an annual event that has been held in Miami since 2012. On this day, thousands of people bring their inflated inner-tubes and float the Atlantic Ocean.
With the weather getting better, it’s likely that more people will be seen out on their bicycles. In fact, Miami is on the list of top 50 cities where commuting via bike is growing the fastest!
Monday morning, a local teenage girl was injured when a vehicle collided with the bicycle she was riding. The 16-year-old was hospitalized and hurt her leg, but luckily survived. The driver of the vehicle that hit her, however, has not been found.
Out of the top ten most unsafe cities to drive in within the United States, four of them are located in the state of Florida!
It has been reported that one out of five drivers on the road in the state of Florida are not licensed. With highly-populated area like Miami-Dade County, it seems quite careless to up the risk of having a car accident even more.
